HYDERABAD INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE AND NOVOTEL HOTEL (SUB-CONSULTANTS TO C&T AND RMJM)
Hitech City, Hyderabad
Area: 3,50,000 sft
Year: 2005

This was a collaboration between the Andhra Pradesh and Emaar, a private developer, to build a world class convention centre and hotel in Hyderabad. UK based RMJM were the primary architects and Chandavarkar and Thacker India Pvt. Ltd. were the architects of record. We were given the mandate by them to consult with RMJM, prepare all the drawings, coordinate the services and selection of materials, and handle all site issues.
Many of the materials and technologies were at the cutting edge at the time of construction and some of the features such as the retractable seating used within the hall, had never been used anywhere in India before. The hall, with a capacity to accommodate 6000 people, could be sub-divided into smaller configurations for multiple uses with the help of movable partitions. The world class facilities included the adjoining hotel within the same complex.
